Juli Jackson

A filmmaker and media artist from rural Arkansas, Juli Jackson explores the transformative power of art through narrative, documentary, and experimental forms. Jackson’s work often blends live action, animation, and archival material, drawing on themes of identity, memory, and regional history. Debut feature film 45RPM—a hybrid of road movie, garage rock celebration, and hand-painted animation—screened internationally, earned 13 festival awards, and is distributed by BrinkVision. Original pilot script Delta received the Alfred P. Sloan Foundation’s Student Discovery Prize for its inventive blend of science, folklore, and Southern culture. Jackson holds a BFA from the University of the Arts in Philadelphia and an MFA in Film and Media Arts from Temple University, and currently works as an independent filmmaker and Assistant Professor of Film Production at the University of Mississippi.
